Choosing signature authentication
Authentication is a signal about the person who opened the request. It is not the signature itself.
Add a check when the document's risk asks for it.inSigner
Email possession is the path included with sending. A one-time code, WhatsApp, or an identity check can add a signal. Each add-on is priced separately. None of them turns a standard signature into a qualified one.
01 · Start with email
Start with email
The signer receives the request by email, and reminders are included on every plan. That shows the message reached the address you entered. It does not prove a government identity. For many commercial PDFs, counsel still accepts that as the proportionate check.
02 · Add a code when the risk rises
Add a code when the risk rises
SMS and WhatsApp one-time codes are optional add-ons. They help when you want a second channel. They are not included in the base price, and they are not a qualified certificate.
The right check is the one the document needs, not the longest menu the product can show.
03 · Use KYC only with a reason
Use KYC only with a reason
KYC is an optional add-on, priced separately. Use it when the document or your own policy requires an identity check. Do not enable it on every envelope to look strict. Friction without a reason lowers completion.

04 · Keep QES in its own lane
Keep QES in its own lane
QES for Europe is an Enterprise option. It is not the default signature, and a standard signature is not QES because you added a code. If the law requires a qualified signature, choose that option with counsel before you send.
05 · Write the choice down
Write the choice down
Note, in the matter file, which check you used and why. The completion record still carries the SHA-256 hash of the final file. The note explains the choice. The hash checks the file.
